When is St. George's Day?

St. George's Day is celebrated every year in England on 23 April. Say "Happy St. George's Day" to friends and family on England's national day. Take a look at our list of St. George's Day parades, events, activities and celebrations and join the fun.

You may not be working on 23 April, but if you are please book the day off work. Join thousands of others who want to make St. George’s Day a bank holiday. If we all take a holiday on the same day, it will send a powerful message to those in charge.

Please sign our St. George’s Day Pledge to support a bank holiday in England on 23 April. Thank you.

We had over 110 St. George's Day events listed in 2025 - let's make 2026 even better!

Support your local celebrations to ensure they become annual events. In 2025, we had Wheelbarrow Races, Inflatable Sword Fights, Mushroom Picking as well as more traditional Parades, Jousting and Pub Quizzes. Something for everyone.

In 2026 we want to celebrate English Eccentricity - the weird and wonderful things only we can do well. If you're organising a St. George event, you can get a free listing on our website. Submit the details by clicking St. George listing.

If you are organising an event in London, please bear in mind that the London Marathon is on Sunday 26 April and may be a distraction.

Note sure how to start? Check our blog article 'Organising a St. George event on a budget'.
